Hi,
Something must have gone wrong. My last two CMH 400 rolls, developed in Tanol at 24 degrees, briefly stopped and fixed in ATS, have spots...
That’s exactly how I always imagined the much-talked-about ‘pinholes’ in the emulsion, or the flaking that occurs when the stop bath is too acidic – except that the spots are white on the positive, so they must be black on the negative. And they are; they’re clearly visible in the grain focuser. Most are round, smaller than 1/2mm in a four-up print and have relatively high density; also in a four-up print, approx. 5–10 per cm², so 20–40 in the negative...
In one negative there are also “black scratches”, which are just as annoying.
It’s not normal dust. Does any of you have any ideas? Could it perhaps even be washed off? (That would be great, as I’d really like to have that negative in good condition).
Many thanks in advance
Martin
