Darkroom rental in Germany

[font="Georgia"][size=3][color="#3366FF"]Hi there. First of all, let me say that I’m glad to have found this English-language forum here. I just wish my German were better so I could enjoy them all. I’m planning a photography trip to Germany in about 90 days; I should be there for six weeks or so. I’ll be staying with friends in Dresden and travelling to and photographing the major cities, as well as the surrounding countries in Eastern Europe. While in Germany, I’d like to try out different photographic papers and film developers so I can restock my darkroom here in the States. I know I’ll be using Efke 100 as my standard film, and I’m keen to try Fomapan 400 as a replacement for APX 400. Is there a darkroom available to rent in Germany? I’ve heard there’s one here at FOTOIMPEX? That would make it much easier to buy supplies and print before I leave. I don’t want to risk having exposed film X-rayed at the airports. Hi Joe, Unfortunately, we’ve had to close our rental darkroom due to a lack of demand and soaring costs. But we’re planning to set up a smaller, more exclusive (and also more expensive) space sometime in October, unless we find someone to take over the rental lab in the coming weeks. In any case, we never had a film developing facility there – just a print room. If you want to work for many hours over just a few days, we can probably arrange something on the side for you (especially if you buy the film from us in the first place :-). Yes, I’d like to print for a few days, trying out various papers (especially different Foma & Efke papers), for at least 8–10 hours each day if possible. Developing at my friend’s flat in Dresden is no problem; I just need a place to print the negatives. I mainly shoot with a Rolleiflex 3.5E TLR but also a Contax G, and print full frame. I’m also interested in European-sized papers versus American sizes. Plus, I’d like to try the ATM developer you recommend with the Fomapan 400. Do you happen to stock Rodinal Special as well? Of course, I’m happy to purchase everything I need from FOTOIMPEX! Many thanks for looking after my needs when I’m there.
