Dear forum members,
Yesterday I tried to test the paper (calibrate it...) using the instructions for my recently purchased Kunze DS90/2.
Even whilst reading the instructions, it wasn’t entirely clear to me how this was supposed to work: measuring with or without a filter; stopped down or wide open; what happens when the gradient is changed...
It didn’t really work out in the end. Does anyone know their way around this device, or one that works on the same principle, and could briefly explain the
procedure to me?
Other equipment I have includes: a Dunco II-66 with a contrast conversion module and the Heiland TRD-1 densitometer attachment. I’ve already used the DS90+TRD-1 to measure (albeit later) transparency and contact sheet greyscale samples. As far as I can tell, it works perfectly. So it’s probably just down to the procedure.
Regards,
Henning

Perhaps the title isn’t quite right... Hasn’t anyone actually ‘calibrated’ a sheet of paper using their lab light meter (model from the early to mid-90s) and could give me a tip on how it works in principle?
I’d be grateful for any advice,
Henning
