Hello,
I’ve been having a bit of a look online and came across two possible colour paper developers:
- Diluprint 4
- Tetenal Colortec
Which one would you go for, and which one offers better value for money?
I’d appreciate a reply!
Kind regards,

Hello Erwin,
I used to work with Dilu a lot; it was no problem at all. Tetenal shouldn’t be any worse, though. According to the supplier’s specifications, Dilu simply offers better coverage for roughly the same price. But bear in mind: 5 square metres per litre is a whopping 100 sheets of 18x24. You can even get 200 sheets out of it if you extend the processing time slightly, provided the last few drops haven’t been used up beforehand. However, if you only want to make one enlargement per exposure – meaning you have to determine the optimal colour filtration for each enlargement first (2–3 test strips are advisable, as neutral filtration doesn’t necessarily produce the best image result) – the developer will spoil beforehand due to oxidation (Dilu data sheet: shelf life 24 hours per cm of liquid level in the tray).
The decisive factor for the image result will be how well your colour filtration suits the subject.
