Well, sort of. At 40–60°C, yes. But as silver oxidises only slowly and then forms complexes only with difficulty, you’d first have to maintain the temperature at 40°C to break down the starch, and then keep it at 55–60°C for longer. So you’d have to manually replicate a dishwasher cycle over several hours.
That would be too much effort for me when you can achieve the same result twice overnight using cheaper ‘Regadont’ dishwasher tablets.
Back in the day, when everything was better[tm], the dishwasher powder did the job. At some point, ‘powder’ in the UL became a ‘tablet’. Apart from a certain religious appeal, these things offer no advantages at room temperature.
Compared to what some people use, Diluclean still has a few advantages in terms of cleaning power, but I don’t want to say that too loudly in this forum.
