Hello, I’ve taken the time once again to rummage through my treasure chest (bits and bobs)! I’ve come across the four Zeiss Ikon Proxar lenses again, with focal lengths of 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0 m. They look like new, but unfortunately they don’t fit any of the cameras I own :blink: Which camera am I missing from my collection? Don’t laugh, but as they’re Proxars and not Distars, my interest in them has grown! Yes, I know, but it’s only the theory that’s complicated! B) Best wishes Jutta

...I'd put my money on the Contaflex with the Pantar. It has a 27mm screw-in filter – so 28.5mm clip-on filters should fit as well... Best regards Wolf

Which camera is missing from my collection?

It says on the side of the B56 body that you’re missing a Contarex or, alternatively, a Moviflex (S8 narrow-gauge film). OK, I’ve seen it: 28.5... Best regards Stefan

Hello! That’s exactly right! I have both: a Contaflex (“Prima”) with the Pantar 2.8/45 and a set of Proxare lenses engraved with A 28.5. And they fit together perfectly. Best regards, Andreas

Jutta, The Proxar lenses definitely fit the Zeiss Ikon Contaflex. I’m not sure about the Pantar – that’s the cheap lens – but they fit my Tessar 2.8/50. You’ve already asked about this elsewhere, haven’t you? If you’re thinking of getting the Contaflex, go for the ‘Mercedes’ – the Super BC with TTL :ph34r: and the option to attach interchangeable cassettes. I’m very happy with it. Best regards

Hi Massa, I do still have a 2.8/50 Tessar, but unfortunately the lenses don’t fit :lol: as my Tessar has an E 30.5 thread and the lens has an A 28.5! Are there different sizes of Tessar? Mine is from the Exakta Varex....... it would have been nice, but.... :D looks like it’s a no-go.... Best wishes Jutta PS: To quote a lovely acquaintance:

Hello Jutta, There are quite a few Tessar lenses; your Proxar lenses are compatible with the Tessar lenses used on Contaflex cameras (Zeiss Ikon). Best regards
