william5 Hi, I'm looking for a red filter for a Durst 805. Does anyone have any tips? They didn't have any at the FOTOIMPEX shop. Best regards
cfb_de Hi Jens, Do you have a holder for the filter? -> Cut a piece of plastic (e.g. an old CD cover) to size and cover it with two or three layers of Rubylith/DC-fix – done. Don’t have a holder? -> Make one yourself; the metal rod should be 8 mm thick, then proceed as above. Or: Durst in Brixen is currently clearing its stock. I’m sure you can buy the part there for a pretty penny. Tetenal might still have one too; they used to handle Durst’s distribution. I say ‘used to’ because Durst has stopped manufacturing laboratory equipment. Best regards, Franz
william5 Hi Franz, thanks for the tips. I no longer have the holder. I’ve made an attachment using a red light filter (not sure where it actually came from) and a suitable pin. The problem is that the filter has a high density; hardly any light gets through. Where can I get this Rubylith/DC-fix you mentioned? Regards, Jens
cfb_de Hi Jens, If you don’t want to buy a whole large roll straight away, you could get a cut from a repro/graphics shop or a print shop in exchange for a small contribution to the coffee fund or a pint. Best regards, Franz

drbue You can find 20 x 20 cm discs at the craft section of Brenner; you can carve one out of those. As far as I can remember, they’re made by Dunco. I use them successfully in my enlarger and also in my Duka lamp – a Rowi model from the Stone Age.
