Hi Mirko,
The whole fuss about the domains actually had a silver lining: it gave me a chance to have another look at your catalogue.
Two things struck me: for the 50 ADOX, the development time for Rodinal is listed as 7 minutes. That sounded familiar to me.
But until now, I’ve been pre-rinsing for 1 minute and then processing for 7 minutes in a 1:25 solution. Now the same film is supposed to be processed for 7 minutes in a 1:50 solution? Is that correct, or has a line just slipped?
And then I saw that the Roll Baryt has now become a regular item. Great!
Best regards,
Franz

Franz,
I have to admit I haven’t checked the Rodinal development times since I set them at some point a while back.
We’ve only ever tested with APH09 here.
I certainly haven’t changed anything.
Was there something different there before, or did you get ‘your’ time from a different table?
Best regards,
Mirko

Hi Mirko,
I got ‘my time’ from one of your tables years ago (around 2001/2002) and was actually pleased that it worked almost perfectly for me.
However, I haven’t paid much attention to it since then, so I can’t say when the pre-heating was dropped for Rodinal 1+25 in your tables and the 50-second time apparently became incorrect.
Best regards,
Franz

Hello Franz and Mirko,
The 50s efke was specified in the 2002 PDF catalogue (V1) as requiring 7 minutes in Rodinal 1:25 at 20 degrees, with a +1 push.
I still have all (or so I think) the PDF catalogues/versions from 2001 to the present day saved on my Mac. It’s actually very interesting what you can sometimes read when comparing the catalogues from different years. It does make one feel a bit wistful at times… regarding prices and materials, etc.
Best regards,
Lothar

Zensusa,
Well, I reckon Mirko’s prices for photo paper are consistent – you can’t complain about that.
Film prices have gone up. When I bought my last roll of ADOX KB 21 in 1970, it cost DM 3.50; when I bought my first roll of Efke KB 100 from Mirko in 1998, it cost DM 3.50 again (Fomapan 100 was slightly more expensive than Efke and came to 3.70 or 3.80).
But seriously, the prices aren’t included; back then, a tidy sum was certainly still being channelled in from Croatia or the Czech Republic, and with Efke, the base was still ‘Made in GDR’ (or am I mistaken there?).
