Hello experts,
I’m afraid I have to ask a really silly question here, but I’m really at my wits’ end at the moment.
:)
Could one of you please tell me how much developer goes into the tank if, for example, I need to fill a Jobo Multitank 5 (2500) for 3 rolls of film? Unfortunately, the quantity stated on the tank only applies to process development.
Should the tank be filled to the top of the last spiral, or is less enough? I’ve just measured it out, and in that case it would be more than 2 litres of developer.
Can the developer be reused as many times as stated on the data sheet without having to extend the development times?
Many thanks for your replies
Best regards
Michael

Hi Michael,
With tilt processing, you pour enough developer into the tank to cover all the reels of film. Yes, with the large tanks, that can easily turn into a bit of a workout. For practice, I’d recommend HP5/800 ASA/Rodinal 1+50. After 17 minutes, you’ll know exactly what you’ve done :-)
If I were you, I’d use the developer as a single-use developer; it’s more reliable and easier to reproduce. Unfortunately, you don’t mention which developer you’re using, otherwise I could have given you some specific times here as well.
Best regards,
Franz

I’ve set up the ID 11 and was thinking of giving the ATM 49 a go soon.
I wanted to develop the Fuji Acros 100 in ID 11, and the Delta 100 and PX 125 in ATM 49.
I reckon I can probably save myself the membership fee at Muckistub :)
Best regards
