Hello everyone,
I’ve got a question about the Weimarlux CDS.
On the front panel, where the light sensor is located, there’s a white flap that you can swing in front of the sensor.
What’s the point of that?
Thanks and best regards, Henri.
PS: Great forum here.

Hello Henri,
Without the hood, you’re taking a subject reading: the Beli is pointed at the subject and measures the light reflected from it.
With the diffuser cap, you’re taking a light reading: the Beli is pointed away from the subject towards the camera and measures the light illuminating the subject.
The latter often gives better results.
Best regards,
Franz

Hi Henri!
That’s a lovely light meter you’ve got there!
I’ve been using one like that for ages – since 1985, I think?
But please don’t drop it.
My first one fell off a hunter’s raised hide
(or was it a tree? hmmm) and
refused to work ever since. The measuring mechanism is quite slow, after all.
Well, it’s not really meant to be thrown from a height of seven metres
:)
Good light

Dennis,
It’s already fallen out of my hands. It was only about a metre, but that was enough to knock the wind out of it. I had to take it half apart. The movement had slipped out of its storage. But it’s working again now.
Best regards, Henri.
