Hallo zusammen, wollte mal nachfragen, ob schon jemand Erfahrung mit dem Pushen vom 400er CHM gemacht hat? Falls ja bis wie viel und welche Entwicklungszei...

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with pushing the 400 CHM? If so, up to what ISO and what development times did you use? :) I develop the "unpushed" version at 1+25 for 11.5 minutes. Many thanks

Yes, I once pushed it (as Kentmere 400, aka Rollei RPX 400) up to 3200 ISO. I’ve written about that here before: http://forum.fotoimpex.de/index.php?showtopic=2630#entry14787 €

I really like it. Digitaltruth only lists a single development time (8 mins at 1+25 for Rodinal), but that made it terribly grainy for me. So I simply adapted the time for the Tri-X: 13 mins at 1+50. Absolutely wonderful results, in my opinion. €

€ By the way, I used Adonal 1+50. The higher temperature was due to the height of summer, but it did have the advantage of keeping the development time a little shorter. € Example (edited negative scan):

I would advise against lumping all Harman-Ilford OEM films together as if they were all the same. In my experience, this is not the case, even though one often reads such claims. The RPX 400 clearly has different characteristics to the Kentmere 400, whilst the RPX and Kentmere 100 are very similar or identical, but differ significantly from the APX 100 New. The latter probably offers better antihalation and certainly requires much shorter development times, though it may be a touch coarser-grained – I’m not entirely sure about that yet.

That’s true, but my RPX400 from back then was from that era, as it was identical to the Kentmere. That’s no longer the case today.

And when the RPX 400 was launched, it was already as it fortunately is again today. The sales department must have taken our grumbling on board. I never liked the Kentmere 400.
