Hi Holger!
Ensuring the roll films lie flat – during development???
Or rather in the camera or in the enlarger?
In the camera, the film pressure plate usually ensures that the roll films lie flat. How you can influence this varies from camera to camera; for the Pentacon Six, I can recommend the instructions at
http://www.baierfoto.de/index.html. It is also always recommended with roll film cameras to advance the film just before taking the shot, or to cock the shutter just before taking the shot.
On the enlarger... it depends on the negative stage, whether it has a glass plate or not. With a glass plate, there shouldn’t be any problems. With glassless stages, you simply have to stop down the aperture further.
...if the film curls after development... this isn’t unusual and varies from film to film. Cut it into suitable streaks and store it in negative storage sheets. You’ll never completely get rid of any existing curl, but you can at least reduce it significantly.
