Hello,
I’m a beginner and have been reading this forum for quite some time now; I’ve found a lot of useful information here. Now I need some advice. I’ve performed the exposure on Adox CHM 125 120 film at ISO 50; for development, I’m using X-Tol Standard at 8 minutes / 1-minute agitation at 20 degrees. The problem is that I can’t get any contrast. I started with the recommended time of 6.5 minutes and increased it in 1-minute increments up to 8.5 minutes.
The negatives look very flat (prints at size 4–5 look mouse-grey with no contrast).
Is the developer not suitable for the CHM, or am I doing something wrong? (I’m sure I am!)
Can anyone give me a tip on what’s going wrong?
Regards, Maik

If I’ve understood you correctly, you’ve suffered from overexposure and underexposure with the film. That’s why you’re getting such a flat image.
Try exposing it at the rated speed or below, and then develop it according to the instructions or push it.
It could also be that your X-Tol has gone off.
