We’ve welcomed lots of new forum members over the last six months.
It’s a bit of a shame, but things are starting to get a bit tight here.
Our old web package wasn’t really designed to handle this much activity, and I’m sure you’ve noticed in the past that the forum often froze, occasionally threw up errors – or even refused to work altogether.
As we’re moving to a larger web server soon anyway, which will also run our shop software and is already running smoothly, the forum can enjoy virtually unlimited bandwidth, processing power and storage capacity ahead of time.
It will therefore be packing its bags and moving house over the next few days.
During this process:
1) The forum will be taken offline for a few hours
2) After the move, for a while, only the address: www.fotoimpexforum.de or the route via our homepage may work.
Unfortunately, we can only announce the exact move date at short notice, as a MySQL expert is monitoring my steps for safety’s sake (I’m not much of a web database programmer, and who on earth invented PLESK anyway?.....:) ).
However, I don’t yet know exactly when he’s available, and we want to keep costs as low as possible :)
