Good evening everyone, What are the practical uses of a release film? What do I do with it? This is the first time I’ve come across the term ‘release film’. Best regards, Guido

Hello, Trennbildfilm is a type of instant film. You load the film into a special cartridge, take the picture, remove the film pack, wait two minutes, and separate the negative from the positive. TBF was mainly used in studios for image review. But, of course, it was also used in the artistic field. The New55 is based on the old Polaroid Polapan 55 black and white film; unlike other Polaroid materials, with this film you could also ‘fix’ the negative and print it normally under an enlarger. Another distinctive feature of the 55 (4x5") was the pattern of holes that appeared during enlargement if the sprocket holes on the negative were not cut off. The 55’s little brother was the 669 (6x9cm) for medium-format backs. Regards, Sven.
