Hello! I have an old Jobo CPE machine, but unfortunately I don’t have a user manual for it. Could anyone provide me with a copy (I’ll pay for it, of course) or tell me if it’s available online somewhere? There doesn’t seem to be a downloads section on the Jobo website. Best regards, Andreas

Hi Mirco, I’m currently experimenting with your ADOX sheet films, so I’ve bought a Jobo Multi Tank 2 (2521) with an insert for sheet films. Up until now, I’ve been tilting it by hand, but I’m a bit lazy, you see… When I attach the tank to the CPE, I can’t find a position for the rollers where the tank lies completely level. I think the best position for the rollers is where the orange rim of the tank rests on them, but even then the tank is slightly tilted (the rim is higher than the base). Is that how it’s meant to be? There are also a few other minor points, e.g.: As the CPE has a dial for setting the temperature and there is a sensor in the tray, I assume you can fill the tray with water and heat it so that the chemicals in the tank don’t cool down. Are there any guidelines on how much water should/can be added? The CPE has two switches for two different rotation speeds. You can also switch both on, in which case the tank rotates slightly slower than in position 1 alone. Is this an additional speed or an unauthorised setting that damages the device?

Hello Taher, hello Franz, Thank you very much for pointing me towards the Jobo USA website. Of course, I visited the site straight away yesterday, as that’s exactly what I was looking for. The instructions there are extremely detailed, but unfortunately they’re all in English and only cover the current model, not my old one (CPE). And because, as you can see, I haven’t got a clue, I can’t judge whether what’s there for the new model also applies to the old one – for example, the controls are different. Nevertheless, it has already helped me with a few questions. Since Mirko was kind enough to ask what I’d like to know, I thought I’d just jot down the outstanding points. Andreas, give Jobo – or rather the Jobo service centre in Gummersbach – a ring, explain your problem to Ms Haidt and ask her to sell you a suitable roller stand. And... lo and behold... if in any doubt, she’ll throw in a copy of the instructions for free. Who’d have thought it... :-) It costs around 10–12 EUR including postage, fits onto the studs in the base and ensures the can sits properly on its rollers. While you’re at it, you should fill the aforementioned studs from below with hot glue – those things tend to break, and you’ll then be wondering about the bottomless capacity of the tub and your own wet feet. Jobo had a black flat plastic wedge/spirit level called the JO 4502. You could use two of these to level the tank. You should be able to find replacements at a DIY store.
