Generally speaking, medium- or low-speed films are preferred for night photography. With 400-speed films, the Schwarzschild effect is significantly stronger, and as exposure times increase, they lose speed much more quickly than, for example, medium-speed films; at a certain point, the situation is reversed and medium-speed films become more sensitive than so-called high-speed films.
