Autumn is coming, and I’d like to do some night photography. My go-to film is Foma 200. Unfortunately, it has terrible black-shield performance. € So my idea was to use the CHM 400 from Fotoimpex. But I can’t find a datasheet for it. Apparently it contains Kentmere 400, but I can’t find any information on its black shield behaviour either. € Can anyone shed some light on this? A source of information, a datasheet or an insider at Fotoimpex? € Olaf

Or you could stock up on any remaining stock of Fuji Neopan Acros 100. This film requires almost no adjustment to exposure time or aperture. Only when the exposure time exceeds 2 minutes should you increase the exposure by 1/2 stop. ? Best regards, Wolfgang

Generally speaking, medium- or low-speed films are preferred for night photography. The interplay between stronger exposure and weaker development in long exposures is already described in the old Agfa black and white manual. The Leverkusen film described here is, of course, a thing of the past, but the information is likely applicable to Adox Silvermax, whose emulsion is closely related to that of the old APX. € Best regards, tepe
