Hello, I’m not sure if I’ve come to the right place with my problem, but I’ll give it a go:
I’ve found a very well-preserved Braun Nizo Super 8 camera with a projector by Eumig and various unexposed film cartridges in a relative’s estate. The items are in excellent condition. So I’ve decided to get into narrow-gauge filmmaking. My only problem is: is there a company, lab or similar anywhere in Germany that develops this sort of film? As far as I know, there’s still a Kodak lab in Switzerland; apparently they’ve already closed in the UK, and I’d have to send it all the way to Japan???? No one can afford that. It would be great to hear back in some form or another. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
What sort of films are they – and, more importantly, when did they expire? After 15 years at room temperature, you won’t get anything out of them anymore, for example...
BTW: no matter where Kodak sends the films (this only applies to Kodachrome, by the way) – they pay for the postage; you just have to make sure the films reach Kodak. In Germany, the collection point is in Stuttgart, for example – Kodak takes care of the rest.

Hi Christian, thanks for your reply. I hadn’t even checked the expiry date. What a shame if it had gone off. Are there any other manufacturers?

Hello,
There have been countless brands – Agfa, Orwo, Kodak and God knows who else.
Kodak is essentially the one that has stood the test of time.
Our host offers, for example, four types of film from them: Kodachrome 40 (discontinued; development is only possible in Switzerland, but this is included in the price), Ektachrome and two black-and-white films.
The address of a developing service is also included.
Impex catalogue, page 19.
There are, of course, other suppliers, but you can easily find them on Google.
