Hello, I need a decent tripod for my Pentax 67. How sturdy is the large ADOX model? Can the ball head handle the weight, and does the quick-release plate wobble? Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to handle the tripods yet. Thanks for your replies. Christian

Hi Christian, I wouldn’t generally recommend a ball head as the first choice for a 6x7 magazine camera. It’s a proper beast and belongs on a proper studio tripod. Not that ADOX tripods are unstable – they’re exceptionally stable for their weight and, above all, wobble-free – but fitted with the 6x7, you’d have a: “just about manageable, and I’m glad I can take such a lightweight tripod with me” combination, rather than earthquake-proof standard equipment. The quick-release plate is one of the best-processed parts on the head. Nothing wobbles there. It makes a clean “snap” and you can lock it in place too. Best regards, Mirko

The quick-release coupling shown in the catalogue looks as though the plates might be compatible with the Manfrotto 486RC2. Am I right in thinking that? Regards, Manfred
