Gast Hello, I have just tested the ADOX Vario Classic Baryt and it seems very similar to the FOMABROM (same thickness and surface, just a little bit ‘cooler’ and perhaps less ‘sharp’ than the Fomabrom). Is it manufactured by the same factory? Are they 240 or 280 gsm? What do you think about the differences between an Opemus 6 and a Durst M805 for printing up to 21 x 21 cm from 6 x 6 negatives using a condenser box? Is there a noticeable difference in terms of sharpness, contrast, illumination... or are they very similar? Last question: are the Paterson Interfit lights better than the ADOX Adolight 20 + 40 in terms of quality and effectiveness? Thank you in advance, All the best, Philippe www.dieform.net
Gast Efficacy!! We don't need to teach you English, do we!!!! Did you have a dictionary for breakfast!! Niall
Ole I think ADOX is made by Fotokemika? Whereas Foma is – well, Foma. So they’re similar, but I don’t think they’re made in the same factory. I’ve never used a Durst M805, but I’ve printed 30x40cm prints from 6x4.5 negatives using an Opemus 6 with a colour head. The sharpness, contrast, lighting and everything else are excellent. Can’t help you with the lights, though ;)
