I’ve got a beginner’s question:
What are the pros and cons of diluting the D-76 or ID 11 1:1? In this case, would you notice a significant improvement in sharpness and increased contrast when using 400-speed film? What dilution do you normally use?

Hi Peter,
With ID11, I use a 1:1 dilution as standard; it’s a bit more balanced than the undiluted stock solution. There are no dilution factors involved as the concentration remains the same throughout. The potency is supposed to increase slightly, but not by much. Overall, it’s simply better.
