By the way: as someone from the Weinviertel: Roman’s friend – Franz Keip – makes a absolutely delicious Mosel Riesling. It’s just the thing for summer: relatively low in alcohol, fresh, dry, and not too acidic. If things work out with DD, Roman might be able to bring some along (I, for one, am already putting in a request).
Wachau, please – the Weinviertel is somewhere else... We’re the elite; the Weinviertel is the plebs among white wine producers... :P
If it works out (though early October isn’t really ideal for me – the chances of me being able to make it are 50:50 at best), I’ll bring a bottle of Grüner Veltliner from Papi, and a good Wachau Riesling Smaragd (around 13% ABV, loads of extract, very mineral, hardly any residual sugar, well-balanced acidity).
And to stay on topic: I’m always on the lookout for Trialuxen too, but they don’t cost that much less than a Meograde – and this month there was a bonus from work, hence the sudden urge to buy...
