Some time ago, I bought some fixed-grade warm-tone baryta paper from your shop; at the time, I was told it was made by Forte, but I’ve heard that you’re now stocking Efke paper.
That’s why I had a friend order my last stock of Wephota Universal BB (which was still Forte) for me; now, apparently due to Forte’s insolvency, Slawitsch or Azomures is to be supplied instead.
Could you perhaps tell me whether you intend to keep the Efke Warmton paper in your range for a while, so that I can plan accordingly, as I don’t want to have to change the type of paper every time.
As I find your packaging easier to handle than Wephota’s, I would actually like to buy from you again.

... I suppose that was just a thought at Wephota, in case Forte closes down, but why would they switch? It’s probably just more idle chatter.

Hi,
Wephota continues to source its warm-tone papers from Forte. As Forte was unable to supply for a while, warm-tone papers from Foma were also added to the range. There was a change regarding the BB, though this isn’t a warm-tone paper. That’s now being supplied by Fotokemika again. If I’m not mistaken, Impex also stocks a similar paper.

Frank,
Perhaps someone should just check with Wephota; I’ve always thought that ‘Universal BB’ warm tone (BB = Baryt brilliant) is the same as ‘Forte Fortezo’. Could it be that you’re confusing it with ‘Universal B’ cool tone, which is Bromofort?
But to be honest, I don’t really care whether it’s Slavich or Azomures in there, as I don’t use multigrade paper. If it’s any good, I was planning to switch to Classic Arts anyway, because Efke, with its thick emulsion, is certainly well suited to high-gloss printing.
It wouldn’t look good for Forte, though, if Wephota is already switching over.
But didn’t Mirko say recently about Azomures that they don’t make photographic materials anymore, when I mentioned the company as a paper supplier? If so, that can’t be right.
Or is it Fohar in Bulgaria they mean? It could easily be confused with Romania. An acquaintance from Crimea likes the Fohar paper – and judging by his photos, rightly so – someone should import it.
We’ll see

Hi,
You're right, I mixed up the Universal BB with the Universal B.

Erhard,
We have two fixed-grade papers in stock and ready for delivery.
Both are listed in the catalogue.
One is identical to the Classic Museum and is now simply called ADOX, as everything is now branded ADOX; the second is new.
Who said there would be no more Classic Museum?
Or was it just a specific size that wasn’t available? Unfortunately, that’s how it will always be. Fixed gradients are no longer in high demand, and we have limited capital and storage space. We cannot guarantee a continuous supply of fixed gradients.
Best regards,
Mirko

Mirko,
Either I'm blind, or my catalogue download (2005) isn't up to date, but there's nothing there.

But they’re right next to each other.
Museum on page 53 and Classic Arts on page 52.
They’ve been there for ages – they’re in the printed catalogue too.
Which link are you clicking on?

Mirko,
The catalogue has been on my computer for a couple of months now, but Classic Arts on page 45 and Museum aren’t in it.
But I suppose the catalogue is already out of date.

Yep – you’ll need to refresh the page.
Forte delivered about 8 weeks ago.
Because fixed gradients are always a bit of a tricky business, I didn’t want to list anything in the catalogue that nobody really knew when or if it would arrive...
That’s why there was nothing listed for a while.
But it’s there now ;)

Thank you very much,
that solves the problem perfectly, especially as I even have a choice between two varieties.

Just to add to the point about Azomures: I’ve had confirmation from a Romanian photographer colleague that Azomures no longer produces any photographic products (only other chemicals).
