Hello, forum members!
I’d like to use a flash with my P 67II – just occasionally – but I’d prefer to save the cost of the wooden grip, which is admittedly very attractive.
I already have a hot shoe adapter (with a tripod thread) and a suitable 5-pin cable. Now I’m looking for an affordable solution for mounting the flash; I was thinking of a rail that attaches to the camera’s tripod thread but then extends upwards at a right angle next to the camera to keep the flash at or above lens height.
(The ‘flash on a tripod’ solution works well, of course, but requires a second tripod, which means (even) more weight for outdoor use).
Does anyone know of a solution or a suitable part from a catalogue?
Or does anyone have a spare wooden grip they’d like to get rid of?
Many thanks in advance for your replies!
Best regards!
Johannes

Hi Johannes,
You can usually find second-hand flash rails like these in the bargain bins at old camera shops. New ones are available from Hama and can also be found in well-stocked camera shops. Or at photography fairs or at the flea market. If you can’t find anything, just send me an email and I’ll see if I’ve got one lying about.
Regards, Sven.
PS. By the way, the large Metz flashes already have the rails built in. The smaller ones can be attached to so-called power grips. That’s an elegant solution too.

Hello Sven,
Thank you very much for your reply and your offer!
Perhaps you could send me an email so we can sort this out outside the forum (I’d be happy to pay for the rail, of course!).
Best regards!
Johannes
