And what remains of the appeal of the CMS if I can’t see the point of—or can’t really make use of—the megapixel craze, which is familiar from the digital world and, in my view, completely daft, combined with the absence of grain?
For my purposes, this makes sense when producing very large enlargements (e.g. landscapes) and, so to speak, ‘stepping into’ the image – or rather, being able to
explore tiny, clearly defined details in the distance. For portraits, for example, this type of film wouldn’t be for me either.
