Hello, I would recommend the two-bath developer Emofin from Tetenal. For further details, please visit http://www.tetenal.com/f_photo_consumer_se...download_de.htm, where you will find the document "Complete collection of beta/time curves". Unfortunately it’s in German and Tetenal doesn’t have it in English, but the beta versus time graphs are self-explanatory. If you develop Neopan 400 with Emofin to a contrast of 0.5, Tetenal rates the Neopan as 800 ASA (the table in the document states speed 30, which is DIN 30. Tetenal defines speed as 0.1D above background. Note that each graph is accompanied by two tables: the upper table is for rotary processing, the lower table is for drum processing with 10 seconds of agitation every minute. Regards Heinrich

Niall, Based on my own experience and several tests in various magazines, ATM49 offers the best balance of grain, speed and resolution. EMOFIN is excellent for achieving speed, pushing and contrast control, yet it is MUCH grainier than ATM49. Mirko

Yes! I'm looking for something that doesn't produce too much grain! Is this currently a powder or a liquid solution, and how do I use it? I assume you have it in stock! I've used Rodinol before but I didn't like the results! Niall

I like NP 400 at ISO 250 in Rodinal 1+50, 20°C, 9 mins – the grain is visible, but not excessive... A49/ATM49 is a good alternative that will even deliver full film speed and less grain, but not quite the same sharpness as Rodinal – I would use A49 with NP400 for portraits, and Rodinal for pretty much everything else...

[font="Georgia"][color="#3333FF"]I use both Rodinal and Rodinal Special (aka Studional) for Neopan 400. I had to use HC-110 for a while when both were out of stock, but now that they’re back, things can get back to normal.[/colo
