I’m about to switch to medium format. I’ve come across a good deal on a Pentax 645 (model
released in 1998, I think – not the AF model).
It comes with two Pentax SMC-A 645 lenses:
- 55/2.8 (brand new)
- 150/3.5 (second-hand)
The price: €1,500
My questions for the experts:
- Is it OK to buy this type of camera second-hand, or is it better to buy it
new? I’ve noticed there’s a lot of electronics in it. Is it reliable and robust
enough for long-term use without breaking down?
- Is the price right?
- Won’t I have problems shooting infrared with it? Bearing in mind the issues
I’ve had with some Canon SLRs.
Thanks for all your help; all comments are welcome
