Hey guys, is our title for the new catalogue actually correct?
Shouldn’t it actually be: *catalogus novus compressus impexa*, assuming *FOTOIMPEX* is feminine and then forming the ablative case??
It’s been so long…… :(

... and the lens plates! That’s exactly the sort of thing I’m looking to order right now – and I don’t have an old catalogue, either in print or online; so how much does one of those cost (for a Magnifax 4)? Also, the friend for whom I’m supposed to order this (and a few other DuKa basics) to save on postage needed a red filter along with this little mounting piece for the Magnifax, which I couldn’t find either – my order will go out as soon as I have the details...

However, the prices for circuit boards, filters and filter rods have been listed for a week now, since Photokina.
That said, we still have a few remaining printed copies, so they’re only in the online catalogue.

Why not try:
Index novus Impexae or Index novus paulus Impexae
It should be the genitive possessive – but I’m not at all sure. There’s no such thing as *Catalogus* -> *Index*, *indicis*.

Just because the word ‘Catalogus’ is used today doesn’t mean it existed in Caesar’s time.
In any case, I haven’t found it in any dictionary.
Another example: what does “Handy” mean?
In German, it refers to mobile phones, whereas in English “handy” is only used as an adjective!
.....but we should know better, shouldn’t we? :(
I know, here comes the reference to the Swabian dialect again, and it’s only the spelling that’s wrong
“Hädi koi Kabel it?”
But just leave the term as it is: it’s not authentic, everyone understands it, and it sounds really clever!

‘Catalogus’ is the Latinised form, from the classical period, of the Greek ‘katalegein’ – to list, to enumerate. The word appears in this form as early as the ship’s catalogue in Homer’s *Iliad*.
But let’s not get hung up on that! Not everything in *Asterix & Obelix* is entirely accurate, and the ‘Tailus Longus’ in Bryen’s life didn’t really exist either.
I’m more interested in another question: what can I use as SW reversal material in the large 4x5” format – is there anything coming out of the Czech Republic at some point? OK, this actually belongs in another thread!
