Hello Mirco,
I’ve just received your lovely new catalogue. Congratulations.
Regarding your CHM films: are these just cheaper versions of the FP4 and HP5,
or is it a completely new film?
What bothers me a bit is that some of the lower-priced items have become quite expensive.
But the range is extensive and you still have the best catalogue.
Kind regards, Frank

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the compliment.
You mean the ADOX CHM films?
They’re the successor to the ORWO films, which are no longer available.
Their photographic characteristics are comparable to those of the FP4 and HP5 ;)
What’s new is that we’re now also producing roll film stock.
As for the prices, I’m a bit puzzled because not a single price change has been made across our entire own-brand range between the old catalogue and the new one (the Fomaspeed Variant entry is clearly a printing error – 25-sheet packs have been mixed up with 100-sheet packs – and the summer prices naturally expired in the autumn). For branded products, where we’ve received price increases from the manufacturers, we’ve naturally had to adjust accordingly.
But that has nothing to do with the catalogue. It’s simply down to the timing of the publication date coinciding with Photokina. Before the trade fair, everyone naturally prints new price lists again. So that would have been due anyway. In some cases, we’ve even sold below cost for a few weeks. That’s obviously not how it’s meant to be.
The catalogue was put together piece by piece over the last year by us in-house. So it didn’t cost us ‘a penny’ extra. The photos, text and layout are mine – spelling mistakes included
Anja designed the basic layout. Muchas gracias again, Anja!!
Also, some products are now on the market in new and improved versions.
These have a higher capacity and are naturally a bit more expensive than their predecessors. Overall, however, they are actually cheaper (calculated per litre of solution).
If you have a pricing issue with a specific product, we’d appreciate it if you let us know (preferably here in the forum), rather than simply buying a different product from a competitor (I’m not accusing anyone of that here – it’s just our internal nightmare scenario). Often, something can be done in consultation with the relevant manufacturer. I do keep my eyes and ears open to ensure that doesn’t happen, but of course I can’t always catch everything.
