Niall, Yes, they are expensive. Around 2000–4000 USD each, plus the cost of the currency converter. I don’t want to get in trouble with my MKL again, so I won’t tell you why we, as a registered company, can’t import them :blink: But you, as a private individual, can import this from the US for yourself because, in the event of electrical damage, you would be the importer and could only sue yourself ;) Check the B&H website. Niall, You might want to have a look on eBay. I bought my press about a year ago for US$300.00. Of course, it’s second-hand and not as nice as a brand-new one, but it works a treat. Shipping/importing it to Europe might be a problem, though... Best regards, muskedear

Niall, Muskeder, Whatever you do, don’t forget about the 110 V vs 220 V issue!! A step-down transformer with a 3000-watt capacity costs a fortune and weighs up to 90 kg. It is important that your press can be set to 220 V. Unfortunately, this will rule out most of the good-value offers from within the US. Mirko

I think there’s a duty on American goods coming into Europe! I’m not sure about second-hand goods, though! It might not be an issue!! I usually buy most of my photography kit on eBay, Germany. The prices are usually good!! What’s the German for ‘dry mount press’? Niall

Hello Nial, The German term for a dry mount press is: "Aufziehpresse", but you might find some under "Presse zum Aufziehen von Bildern" (press for mounting pictures...). Stähane.

Hi Niall, FYI, there’s a hefty import duty on goods imported to the UK from the US. (more than 20%) This also applies to second-hand goods bought from a dealer via eBay, if their value is properly declared on the package; I’ve been caught out by this myself. Regards Christoph
