Good to know – I’m interested in that too, as the Kodak paper is a bit cheaper. What about the characteristics and quality? Are there any major differences between the two papers? I’ve been using Ilford up to now and have been very happy with it.

Arthur,
I’ve used both papers with the Heiland Splitgrade module.
If you want to switch to Polymax permanently, you should aim for SOFT negatives. The Kodak paper is very hard, meaning that a negative requiring MGIVRC Gradation 2 needs only Gradation 1 with Polymax. At lower gradients, the Polymax flattens out considerably in the shadows, and the prints then look rather ‘dull’, i.e. they turn grey in the shadow areas. So I prefer the MGIVRC.
A cost-effective alternative would be the “differently” packaged Agfa MCP (Mirko knows more about this); in my humble opinion, it’s very similar to Ilford, which many consider to be the best RC paper.
