Urnes
Hi,
I found a packet of Classic Blue Toner in the basement. Expiry date: 1999. I thought it was definitely time to give it a go. :D
So I made two 30x40 prints and mixed the toner at a 1:3 ratio because of the amount I needed. I rinsed the first print and put it in; as the toning started, I took it out and rinsed it. Perfect. No problem. The second print was supposed to be a bit bolder to go with my cyan prints. I put the print in and after just under 2.5 minutes, the image was so blue that even the white wheels had taken on a blue tint (the packet said 3–5 minutes). What’s more, the toner then turned into a dark blue sludge in a flash.
Can anyone tell me what happened? I mean, it’s obvious the toner was over-toned :P
What surprises me, though, is that it attacked the image layers so badly. And toned so incredibly quickly. The paper was Multigrade IV, by the way.
Regards, Sven.
