Hi there, lads.
At last I get to have a go on an L 1200 with a black-and-white head. What a brilliant little machine!
But I’m already getting stuck on the small details: which way round do the condenser lenses go in? The thicker one (151) facing up, the thinner one (152) facing down? The illumination looks pretty decent at first glance. But I’d still prefer to have it in black and white.
Does anyone have manuals for the two units mentioned above and could send me some scans or copies? Or better still, post them on the forum?
Thanks in advance,
Axel

Hi Axel,
I’ve got a scan of a 138 somewhere. If you’re the one who goes by the same username on Großformatfotografie, I’ll be able to find your email address there too. It might take a day or two.
Generally speaking, the larger one goes on top and the smaller one on the bottom, with the convex sides of the lenses facing each other.
For the 138, there’s a list of about five different sizes in even more combinations, depending on the focal length.
Best regards,
Martin

P.S., I think by 'bigger' I meant a larger radius, which means it's thinner.

Hi, Max.
Thanks for your efforts.
I’m the one who’s also active on the GF forum. But I’m happy to make it easier for you: mailto:axl@tightlook.de
With the 138, it’s quite simple, because the combinations are clearly printed on the mirror cover. But for my 1200, which I’ve just set up with a black-and-white head, I only have brochures, no manual. There are no markings on this unit, and the two green condenser lenses (151 and 152) aren’t exactly the same size – unlike the two green ones on the 138 (240 and 240) – but are actually slightly different.
That’s why I’m confused.
As it stands, the illumination looks even to my eye. But I haven’t had time to take a test print yet.
Thanks,
Axel
