Does anyone know of any accessories (and where to buy them) for
shadow-free (!!!) photography of spectacle frames?
I’m thinking, for example, of a truncated cone-shaped diffuser that you could
place over the frames and then illuminate from the side,
whilst taking the photo through the opening at the top.

Hi Guenter,
Nice surname! :D
You can find things like that at Brenner (www.fotobrenner.de)

Pop into the DIY store tomorrow and have a look for PVC frosted glass. You’ll find it somewhere in the timber section. If you flick through a classic fashion magazine like *Amica* or something similar, the glasses frames are usually photographed from the height of the glasses themselves – a low-angle shot. The lighting setups are often created using strips, but you can make your own using a frosted glass pane and black card, or ‘scale down’ a larger softbox using black cardboard.
