Hello,
I’ve been given an Opemus 6, which apparently is suitable for 6x6 negatives.
How embarrassing, but what does that actually mean???
I’ve only developed film a few times in a darkroom, and when I did, I enlarged and developed standard 24x36mm negatives.
Is that still possible with this one? The negative stage does have adjustable mask strips (?), after all.
On top of that, I’ve never worked with different lenses before; now I have two and I have no idea what different possibilities they offer me.
They are a 50mm and an 80mm lens.
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hello "newbie",
that means you can use this device to enlarge anything up to and including 6x6 cm in size. So, from Minox to 6x6 roll film. You just need the right lens and, ideally, the matching negative masks. In your case, that means the following:
- An 80mm lens for 6x6, with the round metal plate into which the lens is screwed in having the “bulge facing outwards”.
- 50mm lens for 35mm (24x36), “bump facing inwards”.
If I were you, I’d buy another set of lens-less 35mm masks from Mirko; the ones with the sliding mask bands get annoying in the long run.
Best regards,
Franz
