Hello!
Unfortunately, it seems there aren’t any glassless inserts available for my Opemus 5. So I’m thinking of making something myself. Does anyone have any experience with this or a tip or two?
And what about the flatness of the image when using 6x6 glassless?
Should I just replace the glass at the bottom with a negative mask, or do you think it’s perfectly fine to enlarge without any glass plates at all? The main thing is that the dust problem is sorted (or at least mitigated).

Hi Bernd,
I do think we still have some glassless 6x6 inserts for the Opemus 5.
Did you ring us and find out something different?
Plane alignment: Same as with all other glassless medium-format cameras.
Glass on top, glassless on the bottom would be my suggestion if you can get to grips with the Newton rings.
Best regards,

That’s exactly how it was. The catalogue does indeed only list 35mm inserts under Opemus 5, whereas the website also lists the medium format parts. I was wondering about that too....

We still have 2,300 KB units left, but only about 40 MF units.
These were taken off the catalogue a bit early so that we don’t end up letting down international customers who have already paid in advance and whom we would then be unable to supply.
So if you still want MF units, you should order soon.
The price is the same as for KB.

... And besides, you can actually fit the 6-series mask into the 5-series. I was really grateful to Mirko for that, because it means I can use the 5-series mask for MF and the 6-series for KB.
No fiddling around in between. Just dusting is enough ;-)
Best regards,
Franz
