Hello,
I keep having trouble achieving uniform illumination of my Liesegang frame when making prints with a hard gradient (4–5), even though the lamp bar is set to the optimal position. I have the same issues with MF and MF condenser. It’s not the usual edge drop-off, but rather an irregular pattern. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi Thomas,
Actually, the effect you’re describing suggests that the lamp rod isn’t adjusted properly. I had that problem at the start too.
However, if it only happens at grades 4–5, I’d check my filters or the paper. The lens could, of course, also be a possible source of the problem. If you have one, why not use a handheld light meter to measure the deviation and see if it also occurs when you have the other filters fitted.
It’s also possible that the lamp is nearing the end of its life and is no longer shining evenly.
Regards, Sven.
