I’ve just read in the Impex catalogue that Classic Polykalton paper shouldn’t be developed in Agfa Neutol. My problem is that I use Neutol almost exclusively. What on earth are these issues people are talking about? Can anyone provide any further details? I haven’t seen anything like this before.

Classic Polykaltton paper should not be developed in Agfa Neutol
. However, I know photographers who work exclusively with this combination because it gives them the best results............Polykaltton is Forte Polygrade paper, and here in Holland, Agfa Neutol or Amaloco AM3003 developer is recommended for Forte paper; various photography websites also have nothing but praise for this combination!!!

It seems that neutol now contains a lower concentration of active ingredients.
This may be for environmental reasons. Papers that do not contain any embedded developer substances may be the cause of the problem.
In any case, we have now had around 10 complaints about streaking, and ALL customers were using the combination of Polykaltton and Neutol NE.
We haven’t analysed this scientifically, but all the paper samples submitted looked wonderful in the N113 – with no streaks.
Something is amiss with Neutol and Polykaltton, but we don’t yet know what.
