Hello
I read in a book about the water bath method,
namely:
stir constantly for one minute in standard developer, then pour out the developer (do not discard it) and add water for 2 minutes.
Then another minute in water, and so on, until the specified development time is up. This is supposed to produce results similar to the two-bath process (Emofin), and lead to very balanced negatives.
Has anyone ever tried this?
Best regards, Frank

It results in well-balanced negatives.
I use the A49 process (1:1) – 1 minute in developer, 1 minute in a water bath.
This doubles the development time, and the negatives (I use this process for high-contrast subjects) look very balanced, almost delicate.

...it’s also cheaper than Emofin, and you save on test prints.

Hi,
So what motion profile do you use for the A49?

As always: 3 tilts per minute, continuously for the first 30 seconds, but you should try it out for yourself – Uwe
