Hi!
Is there a minimum volume required in the tank for Classic FO9, as with Rodinal – for example, 10ml?
Thanks!

Hello

Hello,
Of course, a minimum quantity is required.
The dilution ratio and the resulting extension factors are one thing, but if there simply isn’t enough developer to darken the film, even a 3-day development won’t help.
10 ml per film is the absolute minimum. I wouldn’t go below 15 ml of concentrate per film.
However, it all depends on the film size and the average density (which depends on the subject).
The developer is so cheap that experimenting with 8 ml is probably not worth it, as the film you’ll waste is considerably more expensive....
Best regards,

Up until now, I’ve been developing Efke R50 in a 500ml bottle – 1:100 with 5 ml of R/F09....
But no problems...

I'm currently using a 1:80 dilution to 270ml. That works out at exactly 3.3ml of concentrate. I haven't had any problems so far, apart from the fact that the bottle isn't getting any emptier :P .
