Hello!
Does anyone have any experience with Kodak TMax 3200 (with an exposure at 1600 or 3200 – I’ll have to decide on the spot, depending on the lighting conditions) developed in A49 (preferably 1+1 or 1+2)?
After a few attempts with Neopan 1600 (a lovely film, but unfortunately a bit too slow for my purposes) and Delta 3200 (which I didn’t like at all, whether in Emofin, A49 or ID11 – somehow flat and lacking in sharpness), I’ve now settled on TMax. Initial attempts with Emofin yielded quite good results; it does turn out a bit cooler than the Delta, but it’s also more sharp and crisp; however, I’ve now run out of Emofin, as I wasn’t particularly impressed with it, and I want to stick to/limit myself to two developers in future anyway (Rodinal and A49, depending on the subject), so I’d be interested in hearing about anyone’s experiences and development times for the combination mentioned above....
Thanks,
Roman

Hi Roman,
I develop the T-Max 3200 for a quarter of an hour in A49 at a 1+1 dilution (single-use developer).
Well, what can I say, I’m amazed by the results every single time: sharpness, crispness, less grain visibility and pleasant grey tones.
I’ve performed the exposure at 3200 every time so far.
Good luck and happy shooting.

Thanks! I’ll give it a go!
Two more questions: developing time – 30 seconds or 1 minute?
What type of enlarger do you use – condenser or mixed light?
Best regards,

So for the first minute, I keep tilting it; after that, every 30 seconds.
I’m using an Opemus 5 as my enlarger: a condenser lens, in other words!
I’ll have a look for a ready-made print – then you can see what it looks like!

OK, thanks!
I'll just spend another minute on my Opemus 6 with the colour head then...
