Does anyone know of a way to develop Foma MG Classic paper to a cooler tone? I sometimes find the warm tone a bit too warm. Does Eukobrom work?
Thanks in advance

Tested with Fomatone MG RC/PE:
Amaloco AM 3003, ideal for chlorobromide emulsion, produces a neutral tone.
For a true warm tone, we recommend AM 1001.

Carsten,
If you don’t like the warm green tone, why are you using this paper?
If you find it still too warm in Euko, I’d recommend trying a different paper instead....
We can also recommend Moersch Blue; it makes the Fomatone cooler and achieves a good Dmax.
Best regards,

Hello!
I haven’t used the Foma MG Classic yet – but as a general rule for warm-tone papers (ideally developed in a warm-tone developer such as Neutol WA), you can cool them down to a neutral black tone with a SHORT selenium toner; however, this also leads to a slight increase in contrast; the toning initially takes hold in the shadows and then continues into the highlights; once the desired level is reached (you might want to place a wet comparison print in a bowl next to it), you must wash it thoroughly, as prolonged use of a selenium toner will result in chocolate-brown tones.
Warm-tone papers also respond quite well to gold toner – a range of cool tones, up to a slight black-blue, is possible!

Hi Mirko!
I managed to get a large pack of this 30x40 paper at a very reasonable price. And since my modest trainee’s salary isn’t enough to buy any more paper, I was hoping there might be some way to tone the paper down a bit, if the subject calls for it. I usually prefer a warmer tone anyway.
Thanks all the same!!!
