realist Hello! I’ve acquired an Opemus 5 enlarger (quite old; a large, white-painted unit) It came with two lenses: a Berophot 1:3.5 F=75mm; and a Rodagon f/2.8-50mm I’m having a problem with the Rodagon lens. The instruction manual says that you have to turn the lens mount (it looks like a key without a top or bottom) round for the 50mm lens. However, I can’t get the Rodagon into the mount because the aperture adjustment ring is too wide. The lens thread itself would actually fit. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? (Sorry, I’m a beginner) Many thanks in advance, Andreas
Gast Andreas, That’s one of the reasons why we have custom-made lens boards manufactured for the Opemus 2-5 M39. The original boards are too small. Our custom-made version almost always fits. There should also be pictures on our website. Under ‘Parts and Accessories for Old Meos’ in the ‘Second-hand Parts’ section. Best regards, Mirko www.fotoimpex.de
realist Thanks for your reply, but which lens board can I order with confidence now? I’ve looked at the pictures, but I can’t say for certain which one will fit. As I said, the thread is an M39 thread (so the lens would theoretically fit the other way round), but the diameter of the board’s funnel is too small, so the lens doesn’t fit inside. Should I specify the exact dimensions when ordering? Kind regards, Andreas
Gast Our circuit boards are milled, not extruded. That’s why they don’t go in quite as deep. We’ve made sure that a new 50mm Rodagon lens fits into the recess. If yours is any bigger, there’s nothing we can do about it... Best regards, Mirko
Gast ...it’s, of course, the ‘custom-made’ circuit board for the M39 and older Opemus models. (The most expensive one ;-) Mirko
