Has anyone developed the 820c using R09, Negafin or UltrafinSF?
What times, temperatures and agitation did you use?
Best regards, Matthias

Hi Matthias (are you one of the ‘Ms’ who’s also active on the Phototec forum – if so, you’ll already know my details...)!
I can’t say anything about the developers you mentioned, but I’ve recently been experimenting with Rodinal (i.e. an R09-like developer) and Emofin (for other Tetenal developers, they have some data sheets available as PDF downloads on their website):
Maco IR820c, 120 medium format, red filter No. 29 (factor 8, i.e. +3 stops), mid-morning, clear sky with sunshine, exposure estimated using the ‘Sunny 16 rule’ with an assumed speed of 32 ASA (this gives f/16 at 1/30; with a filter factor of 8/+3 stops, that’s approx. f/8 at 1/15); Exposure bracketing done at +1 and -1 stops, developed in Rodinal 1+75 for 15 minutes: the development time was probably too short, the edges are slightly underexposed – I reckon it should have been 20 minutes; Furthermore, the film suffers from underexposure of 2 to 3 stops; the +1 stop negatives should just about be printable with a hard gradient (I only have the negatives; due to lack of time, I can’t get to the darkroom at the moment); the speed should probably be set closer to 8 ASA (with a filter factor of 3, that would then be 1 ASA effective).
The negatives exposed with the same settings and developed in Emofin (Tank 1 7.5 mins, Tank 2 10 mins, 30-sec. agitation) are slightly better – perhaps Tank 1 should have been extended slightly (for stronger highlights), but the +1 stop negatives should print well; I’ll be giving this a go soon with an exposure at 16 ASA (factor 8 -> 2 ASA effective) and development for 9 + 9 minutes in Emofin.
