Hello,
I’m a big fan of Adox Silvermax film and go through quite a lot of it (around 60–80 rolls a year).
For the past few months, the film has no longer been packaged in the ‘classic’ metal tins but in plastic containers. It used to come with a DX code (which I really appreciated), but now it doesn’t.
I’m not entirely happy about this.

I’m not sure whether the film now comes on a thinner base material? Has anyone noticed anything about this?

The film is the same, but we are no longer being supplied with metal cartridges, as the current monopoly supplier no longer allows any ‘competitors’.
We are trying to work on a solution, but the prices quoted so far have been more in the region of 150–200 times our annual profits.
Unfortunately, things aren’t that simple these days, so the plastic cartridges will be with us for a while yet.
