The large-format camera on an optical bench remains the most important tool in professional architectural photography. Whether digital or analogue.[/colo
Only with this camera can perspectives be corrected, planes of focus set and converging lines balanced through appropriate adjustments, without compromising on quality or wasting time in post-production.[/colo
But what is the best way to photograph architecture?
In this workshop, participants will learn how to use one of the most advanced digital view cameras. They will work ‘on location’ in Berlin with the Linhof 679 and a PhaseOne back. In addition to the technical aspects, compositional strategies will be explained. On the first day, they will use example photographs to see what high-quality final results look like and gain insights into the insider knowledge of a professional. They will then familiarise themselves with the view camera and learn how to apply various adjustments. On the second day, participants will explore interesting architectural sites in Berlin. Under professional guidance, they will photograph their chosen subject. At the end, the photographs will be discussed and evaluated together.[/colo
