Hello,
I’ve bought a sachet of ADOX Adofix P here at FOTOIMPEX, which makes up 1000 ml. Unfortunately, I don’t have any information on what temperature to use when preparing the fixer. Is 30°C OK?

Hello,
I had no trouble dissolving the powder at 20 degrees. It only took a few minutes. Both ingredients I’m familiar with are easily soluble in water, but I don’t think they would simply break down even at 30 degrees. Sodium disulphite breaks down over time even at room temperature and then gives off an unpleasant smell (sulphur dioxide).
Best regards,

Thanks for your quick reply. I’ll prepare the fixer at 20°C as well.

Hello,
Always prepare the powder fixer at a higher temperature, around 50°C.
When the salts dissolve, energy (heat from the water) is absorbed.
Allow to cool to 20°C before use.

Thanks, so it’s the same as with the powder developers.
