The Fotoimpex team is sending you the most wonderful, warmest holiday greetings!
2019 has been a landmark year for the world of analogue photography, as, after ten years of chemical research in Germany and re-engineering a coating machine in Switzerland, ADOX finally produced the first batches of Polywarmtone
®
II. The legendary Forte
®
paper has been brought back to life, as ADOX remastered the original recipe and combined it with a superior multigrade technology, identical to that of its MCC baryta paper.
We look forward to bringing Polywarmtone
®
II to the market in 2020!
The FOTOIMPEX team sends you the warmest Christmas greetings!
2019 was a milestone for analogue photography, as, following ten years of research in Germany and the re-engineering of a casting machine in Switzerland, we finally carried out the first castings of our Polywarmtone® II photographic paper. The legendary Forte® paper has been revived by ADOX based on the original recipe, combined with MCC contrast-shifting technology. We look forward to the final market launch of Polywarmtone® II in 2020!

[color=#000000][size=x-smal[font=Helvetica][color=#000000][size=medium][font=Helvetica, Arial, sans-seriIlford also released a range of products in late 2019, cutting their previously well-known Ortho Plus film into 120 and
35mm formats
. Orthochromatic film can be processed under subdued red light, which is excellent for beginners.
The Generation V RC paper
has also been a great improvement over the previous generation, producing results very close to Ilford Multigrade Fiber Classic. The new Harman disposable camera looks fun too! We have stock on its way, and we are excited to be offering all of it in our shop in early 2020.
As soon as stock of the new Fuji Acros in 35mm and 120, and Kodak Ektachrome in 120 and 4x5” arrives, we will certainly be offering these too.
Ilford also introduced a range of new products in autumn 2019, including the well-known Ortho Plus in roll and 35mm film formats. Orthochromatic film can be developed under a dim red light, making it perfect for beginners. The new Multigrade V also represents a significant improvement over the Multigrade IV. The new RC paper now performs in the same way as the improved Multigrade Classic Baryt. The new Harman disposable camera looks like a proper camera. All new Harman products are either already available or on their way. As soon as the new Fuji Acros becomes available as 35mm and roll film, we will list it. Kodak has announced Ektachrome as roll and sheet film. Here too, we expect the first delivery shortly.

[color=#000000][size=x-smal[font=Helvetica][color=#000000][size=medium][font=Helvetica, Arial, sans-seriAnother release we are excited about next year is the ADOX Scala at-home reversal kit for black-and-white slides. Taking positive black-and-white images straight out of the developing tank is a magic we would love our customers to experience. Agfa Scala was the only commercially available slide process in the 1980s, and it took ADOX a whole year and thousands of tests to simplify it whilst maintaining the quality.
Another new announcement in 2019 was the ADOX Scala reversal kit. Taking black and white slides straight out of the developing tank is a magical experience that we would love to share with you. Agfa Scala was the only commercial black and white slide process in the 1980s and 1990s, and it took a whole year of research and thousands of test developments to simplify the process and make it available to amateurs. Naturally, without compromising on quality.

[color=#000000][size=x-smal[font=Helvetica][color=#000000][size=medium][font=Helvetica, Arial, sans-seriAnother step down from professional labs to home processing came in the form of Magic Boxes from Tetenal. In 2020 you will be able to try their
E6
and
C-41
kits that make 250ml of solution to process 1 roll of film in rotation tanks (but in reality you can process up to 3). The most beginner-friendly tank is our favourite
Ars-Imago Lab-Box
, a beautifully redesigned and upgraded version of the Agfa Rondinax. It makes at-home processing easy and smooth, with no fear of light leaks. And those boxes are just so stylish!
Another scaled-down option from the world of professional processes are the new Magic Boxes from Tetenal. With these small and affordable kits, you can develop one roll of Fardia or colour negative film at a time. The most beginner-friendly tank is the new Ars-Imago Lab Box. A beautifully designed and improved version of the old Agfa Rondinax developing tanks. Develop film on the go in style, without needing a darkroom!

[color=#000000][size=x-smal[font=Helvetica][color=#000000][size=medium][font=Helvetica, Arial, sans-seriFor small-scale colour printing, the Tetenal RA-4 250ml kit will be available in our shop next year too. Perfect for taking your first steps in printing, with enough solution for 20 sheets. We can’t wait to try it!
Right now we have a 2019 release – an innovative
2.5-litre RA-4 kit from ADOX
, streamlined to just two solutions with a special technology delivering consistent results from the very first sheet.
For small-scale users, Tetenal has also launched a Mini-RA-4 kit. It is affordable and sufficient for 20 sheets of 18x24 photo paper. We can hardly wait to try it out. In 2019, ADOX re-released its well-known
single-bath RA-4 kit with improved technology and more consistent results from the very first sheet.
