Hello,
We’re all supposed to be spending a lot of time at home at the moment. I’ve picked up a FEM Kunze CA100 (colour analyser) on eBay, but unfortunately it didn’t come with a user manual. Does anyone have an electronic copy of the manual, or any idea where I might be able to get hold of one? Does the original CA100 actually come with a calibration negative?
Thanks and best regards,
Markus

Hello, I don’t have a manual for the CA100. I do have a slightly older unit here, the Colormaster CCM 1009, which comes with a manual. The unit uses the same measuring head as the CA100. It dates from the transitional period between Wallner and Femkunze.
Otherwise, the unit is constructed quite differently and also features a timer with a switching power supply for the enlarger. But the manual is quite useful for understanding how it works. I have it as a PDF if you’re interested.
Test negatives were always included with Femkunze. For colour enlargements, you could order test negatives on your preferred film stock.
However, with a self-created ideal enlargement, you can also do without the negatives.
At least with the black-and-white measuring devices, you don’t need the test negative.
A quick note on the measuring head:
The toggle switch switches between colour analysis and exposure time.
The CA100 can’t actually measure exposure time, can it?
You set the colour channels using the dial. White dot = measure time; one step further is cyan, magenta and yellow. The button on the side is for ‘measure now’.
Otherwise, I can suggest you contact a seller on classifieds sites or eBay and ask for a copy. I’ve had success with private sellers quite often.

Your tip worked – the seller managed to find the instructions after all and sent them to me, so if anyone’s interested, please send me a quick private message
