My search for a film cutter (for 9.2 mm Minox film) turned up either exorbitant prices or nothing suitable. So I made my own.
Using 9 mm solid beech strips, 3 razor blades and 2 carriage bolts, I managed to put it together.
Yesterday I cut some APX 100 to size and loaded it into the Minox cassettes. Let’s see how it turns out......
If you’d like to make your own, here’s a guide. The top plate with felt underneath is also made from the 9 mm strip and is the same length as the cutter. The felt is just thick enough to press the film down gently. As the emulsion side lies on the cutter, I sanded the wood very finely. It’s better to stick a black film over it.
